  • As a man united fan, I’d like to believe we have been wronged by VAR a lot this season and sure VAR do get decisions wrong but it’s no where as bad as people make it seem. I think PL refs are among the best in the world and the VAR in the PL is among the best in the world. Errors occur, there can be miscommunication, and bad takes. But these make a small number of the decisions.

VAR can improve. If I had the power, referees include the virtual ones have to say aloud reasoning behind every decision they make as they make so it can be recorded. This include fouls, offside calls, and drop balls. This real time recording then have to released at the end of each match for anyone who wishes to review them to do so. This will allow fans to better understand the decisions being given.

While VAR can improve, I think they are doing a great job so far and there have been a massive reduction in big obvious errors than back in 2000s where for example players routinely get away with clear offside goals which the assistant refs (linesmen) seem to miss and other huge error and misjudgment from refs. .
