I see, unfortunate
Don’t think that is compatible with GDPR, or?
Search for lemmy_support and it should turn up (if you’re an lemmy.ml)
You could try asking that question in Lemmy support community, I’m just a random user xD
Would be really nice if on the instance page you could have some extra information admins could fill in like max capacity and such, think that people would be more inclined to choose other instances if they could see how close the instance is to the approximate member limit
I don’t know how to interpret “everyone should feel welcome here” other than it is for everyone. As far as culture shift, it really is impossible to maintain the more “fringe” leftist culture with an increase in users, marxist-leninist simply do not exist in large enough numbers. I don’t really see why lemmy.ml shifting its majority political leaning would be something negative to you, since the only thing that would happen would be more discussion in the comments, and if discussion isn’t something desirable, places like lemmygrad do exist
Problem for reddit is, the people contributing through posts or comments are the ones most likely take offence to the new API pricing, and losing those people will be exponentially more hurtful for reddit than losing your average redditor. The proportion of people commenting, posting and upvoting is incredibly small compared to the total user number
Nah, eventually they will be outnumbered an dislike to go beyond lemmygrad because they get endlessly shit on
I name everything as var1 var2 etc.
I take it you are completely fine with the current state of Russia’s leadership, or how would you describe it?
I’m fine with being hyper critical of sources, what I don’t understand is, if you go down that route dismissing sources because of some clandestine connection, why isn’t this applicable to any source? Western media controlled by the CIA or whatever with an agenda of demonizing socialism, media controlled by socialist countries with an agenda of demonizing capitalism. It’s so weird only extending that scepticism to western media
Ahh so it’s not really about communism at all but anti-american imperialism. I don’t know what mental gymnastics you have to go through supporting an invasion on an neighbouring country by a fascist regime as a communist
“One of the major things that sets us apart from fascists and liberals is that we do not have an idealized, cultish, worship of the past and our leaders.”
Granted I’m new to this community, but the interactions I’ve had so far (like the weird attachment to Russia, which stopped being even even remotely communist many years ago, and is at the moment bordering fascism) kind of don’t reflect my recent experience. If this truly is an integral part of communist ideology then many people didn’t get the memo.
So what is the point of having peace talks if not the cessation of war?
So if the war end right now would that mean Russia would withdraw it’s troops from Ukraine? No it wouldn’t, so implicitly engaging in peace talks while Russia holds territory in Ukraine would mean conceding territory. Why would china want that? Isn’t that meddling in the war?
It’s very ironic how you are fine with china’s involvement but not the US’
Would any source I give you be acceptable to you? Guessing western media is out of the question, WHO and HRW too. It’s difficult providing sources if the only acceptable ones are those that deny it’s happening
Could you point me to the points in the article relevant to my comment? (This is a genuine request and I’m not being sarcastic)
I guess we disagree on that, I see no reason to make out some communist countries as hellholes (DPRK) while others like Cuba get a free pass. Other than that I consider DPRK leadership as more of a personal cult disguised with a communist state, and why communists would be compelled to defend that kind of stratification of society is beyond me
The summer offensive that has been going on for what? One week? Looking at how fast Russia gained ground in bakhmut, vuhledar, and avdiivka, this offensive is going swimmingly
