@Solumbran @mr_MADAFAKA better late than never.

@Jarix oh, that, yeah. GOG is currently in a decent position because it has a launcher, but it’s basically a “thin layer” on top of APIs that allow anyone to download the installers (plus some services to manage those installations). As long as the underlying APIs remain accessible, it’s fine. (This is e.g. how lgogdownloader allows one to archive their whole library for offline installation.)

@Jarix @leave_it_blank offline installers (what you get from GOG) are forever. Ask my library of archived GOG installers.

@Solumbran @JigglySackles there was a particularly heavy handed show off when visa and Mastercard were going after adult games on other platforms in a «but them before we’re forced to delist them», but other than that I don’t remember them being pushed particularly strongly
@swelter_spark @PiraHxCx no chance to play them with him? «I got a bunch of adult games for free when there was that whole Credit Cards vs adult games creator kerfuffle, wanna try them out with me?»

@JoMiran I use lgogdownloader
https://github.com/Sude-/lgogdownloader
from the command line on the my home server.
@jewbacca117 @expatriado did they lose in court? If not, that’s just an excuse.

@atomicpoet @retrogaming yup, I used to play the Wii through a projector and it’s AWESOME

@jon@vivaldi.net oh they really mean porcelain in the toilet sense, judging from the logo, LOL

@jon@vivaldi.net I was a long-time Opera aficionado, only dropped it when they switched to WebKit (and then Blink) and the last Presto-based version became obsolete (TLS-wise, mostly). Switched to Firefox, with which I’ll stick as long as it maintains Gecko. Would love to jump to Vivaldi, but we need more independent rendering engines for the health of the web.

@jon@vivaldi.net TBF they had started going to shit already a few years earlier, but AI has just made it worse.

@jon@vivaldi.net I’ve said it before but I think it bears repeating: my only issue with Vivaldi is Blink. I even care about that even more than Vivaldi not being FLOSS. I fully understand the reasons for it, but still it would be better if it offered at least WebKit and/or Gecko as an alternative.

I only just found this but, in case you’re still testing things, here’s a couple of hints:

@anarchiversitario @politica politici MORTI peraltro. Ci sarebbe da ridere se non ci fosse da piangere
@RetroHax @Auster @gog
Arguably it’s because they can’t ensure the same (or higher) level of compatibility with newer versions of dosbox or scummvm (e.g. because of regressions). It’s still possible to use newer dosbox/scummvm with the games they provide by hacking around the launcher and/or just using the installation elseways, but it would be nice if this was supported at the installation package level.
