I’ve been considering a switch since my instance has a lot of issues with overloading. I like that yours doesn’t censor words. Does lemm.ee have issues with too many people joining and overloading the server?
2·1 year agoYeah I was on Kbin but got tired of the UI. Plus there are no apps for it.
We have a similar one here in the US. People think if you go outside when it’s too cold, you’ll get sick.
Damn, it looks like it still got you.
Let’s see if that gets filtered.
Edit: looks like the curse filter Broke that link. Just google “mtg called Biebert a little” and you’ll find it.
They’re pretty much baofengs with much better filtering, so you don’t get front end overloading which can be frustrating.
Isn’t it maintained again?
Most activity, I’ve seen here: !amateurradio@lemmy.ko4abp.com but there’s a lemmy bug that’s not showing a bunch of posts. That should be resolved soon.
These are good cheaper radios (The price has gone up a bit)
They are fine for starting out with, but you’ll probably want to upgrade soon. There are better radios for around $75 if you can afford it.
Ham radio! It’s relaxing. My favorite activity is to take my portable gear to parks and operate Parks on the Air.
Using lemmy is well worth the $5 per month I give them.

The boosts segment annoys the hell out of me for some reason. I just don’t want to hear about crypto.
Same for me. I asked on Mastodon and people were saying it doesn’t work for them anymore. Very strange.
