Between the Sd card and the internal storage you have nearly the amount the top teir deck had. It’s not the shader cache but the compatdata that is the real hog which I think is where the games and all the different proton versions are stored. This is the problem and it isn’t explained at all nor is it easy to access or delete. It is probably one the messiest bits of steamos.
There are a lot more settings and adjustments available to the user as it is a PC. Very often seen the case where it’s simply a proton compatability problem or a setting someone has applied globally instead of locally to one game. You don’t get that in consoles.
The both have their advantages and disadvantages get the one the best suits how YOU will use it. Some people are always near a power outlet, other’s are often away from one. It really depends on your behaviour and what you prefer.
This so subjective because you can handle using either machine so technical issues aren’t a problem. Can you borrow it for a day or two? Might help make your mind up
Mainly just to check www.protondb.com for individual games and how they run. Steam has a easy refund policy- i think it’s two weeks after purchase or two hours of gameplay- if something won’t run you can easily get a refund.
Don’t starve, limbo, inside, rainworld, baba is you, curse of the obra dinn,
They can although specifically for CP2077 they recommend you install to the SSD though I just installed it on SD card and am getting 30fps. Lots of peeps with the 64GB install larger games to SD card and they run fine.
If you’d like something a bit different I’d recommend Rainworld and baba is you
Just downloaded it again for the dlc after finishing it last year. Forgot how well it runs. Great game. But larger than 64GB so you’d need a bigger SSD or an SD card.
Yeah I generally set it to left trigger pull so it’s only on when aiming down sights
When did you order yours?
45w is maximum. It’ll charge but at a slower rate.
Yeah that is a more difficult one to answer as performance is generally measured against the on board screen. My guess is it will vary and also depend on other settings, FPS etc that you are willing to accept. You could buy with a view to returning it if it doesn’t meet your expectations. I’ve happily played a few titles at 540p on the deck but others would find that unacceptable - performance is in the eye of the beholder really once your hitting 30fps, some wouldn’t even agree on that.
Pretty sure I’ve seen reviews and a badge appears in the … menu when HDR is active
Also pondering this. Also assume that my old games become non functional when I sign out of my old deck, giving it to my bro, bit gutted he won’t have access to some of the titles.
Use protondb.com to find out game performance and best settings. As a PC there’s more than one correct setting and a range of performance that people find acceptable. There’s a good sale on right now - worth a look. Titanfall2 and prey both great and can be picked up v cheap
Yes. Web browser, watching vids for my online course
