I got my OLED yesterday and I’m a little confused about how to turn on HDR. I only had time to try two games yesterday and I’m not sure it worked on either one.
Mortal Kombat 1 - It let me turn on HDR but I didn’t notice any immediate change like I do on my OLED monitor.
Tony Hawk 1+2 - HDR is greyed out, I can’t select it at all.
Side note - Tony Hawk runs at a near solid 90fps at medium settings. I was wondering why the game felt different than on my LCD Deck and was shocked when I turned on the FPS counter.
HDR must be supported by the game. It’s not auto hdr
Pretty sure I’ve seen reviews and a badge appears in the … menu when HDR is active
Tony Hawk was the first game I tried on my OLED deck, and I saw the same results as you. I assumed that it just doesn’t support HDR on Linux yet, but I figured I would check reddit to see.
It’s kind of a shame, the main reason I bought the game was to test HDR on the deck… The secondary reason was nostalgia, so that one still hits.
Try Proton Experimental, heard that can get HDR working on Windows games.
