I will be sometime next year after I upgrade my iPhone and maybe help my mom with her new glasses and/upgrade for her iPhone as well. I am genuinely excited. Sure, I could just reset windows 10 on my pc to repair the corrupt install that was piled up from years of unknowingly being on insider builds but I needed the excuse to end my relationship with the evil that is windows as an OS, give my old tower to my chosen brother’s wife, go all in on the deep end of linux and then the first phase of my master plan of getting said chosen brother and his wife to switch over to the deck by upgrading mine after the deck 2 comes out and just casually hand off the oled to him. I genuinely won’t be mad of the deck 2 comes out either next year or 2025 cause he’s needed an upgrade more than me for well over maybe a decade now and I’m really looking forward to seeing the look on his face when I figure out the perfect joke to give it to him as I so often love to make my family laugh. Honestly considering learning to play poker just to ante the deck, win or lose it and hand it off to him and in either case, I win cause he gets a deck lol.

As for me, the deck is genuinely the absolute perfect machine for my needs as I mainly play indie titles and pixel based games with the occasional heavy title like sonic generations, Spyro trilogy and Tetris effect (which oh my glorious gods I cannot wait to see how that game looks on the oled screen). I will eventually get spiderman which I hear runs great on deck.

So I will say I’m very happy you are happy with your new deck. I know the situation was very immediately frustrating to piece together everything but if something like this ever happens again, just watch an unboxing video and you will get a very methodical play by play on everything the product comes with.

As for the model? If it’s an oled, literally all you have to do is go near a light source and see if you can see a full reflection of the light in the screen or if the screen is still fully visible without reflection. If the former, it’s the 512gb oled. If not reflective, it’s the fancy 1tb model. If it’s not an oled, same thing applies to the 1tb oled but it’ll have 512gb storage instead of 1tb. All the others vary only in storage and can be found in the storage settings on the deck.

Enjoy your early Christmas my dude and also enjoy any and all time with your amazing GF. You may be able to customize that deck inside and out, but a GF like that is perfect just the way they are cause they wanna see you happy.

In all seriousness though, I always recommend freedom planet and its sequel to any sonic fans or just sega fans in general. Mercenary kings is also a fun time

If you don’t mind the bit extra for solid games, Spyro holds up surprisingly well and Spider-Man is wonderful from what I’ve seen of my chosen family playing it.

Teenage mutant ninja turtles shredders revenge is crazy fun if you have friends that you wanna play a good beat em up with.

Anything supergiant makes automatically turns your deck into gold. Bastion, transistor etc are all incredible for the price and in my opinion are the kings of indie games.

I highly enjoyed mega man 11 and it apparently runs great on deck. Original legacy collections of megaman also run but the x collection does not. The new battle network megaman collections are amazing to have finally launched on steam so I totally plan on picking those up once they drop in price a bit more.

Also highly recommend Tetris effect as I hear it runs great on deck and also, I can’t even imagine how glorious that specific game looks on an oled panel. I think my eyes would melt just looking at it to be honest lol.

Gonna also throw shovel knight and hallow knight out there. Phenomenal fun games.

Dishonorable mention goes to Scott pilgrim the game but only because it requires Ubisoft connect and has denuvo. Love the game, hate the company with a passion.

Think I got everything. This started out with me just wanting to make a joke but then I figured I’d actually give out some solid suggestions considering the sale. Hope you found something good and I hope you enjoy your new deck soon.

It’s weird to think of half life being 25 years old when I feel the math puts it in a perpetual state of being always half its age. Like, currently, isn’t it just 12 and a half years old? Likewise, does having both half life and half life 2 in your library make it a full life and thus give you full access to its lifetime?

I don’t know what I have to turn off but both QuickPath typing and literally typing out entire words without using anything else results in words I do not type. QuickPath never fuckin learns the words should, it’s, and more I can’t think at at the moment but they’re really common words to type. Couple that with the fact that simply typing specific words somehow triggers some kind of autocorrect I had turned off and I have never been more frustrated at the iOS keyboard in my life.

Really hope Apple fixes this mess soon. I’ve been journaling like crazy and hate having to proofread every entry just to make sure it looks the way I typed it out in the first place.
