This title screen brought me right back to the first time I played it as a kid… Half-Life was one of the first cinematic feeling games, and this feels like the perfect way to replay it 25 years later.
Why does the screen not look like it’s on?
It’s an OLED screen, most of it isn’t on!
I don’t remember my Switch looking like that? I’ll have to check when I get home.
Gave me goosebumps, bro. ;)
Premium Steam Deck Vent smell
I’ve been playing this at locked 90fps using only 5 watts TDP and getting nearly 10 hours of battery life. It is glorious!
This is the way
Mine is supposed to arrive tomorrow, no LE though since I live in Sweden but I’m looking forward to it nevertheless (1TB model)
Hur länge var din i Danmark? Min har varit där i 24h nu…
How’s the grippier thumbsticks compared to the og version? Does it make a difference at all?
Much better. The OG thumbsticks were some of the worst I’ve used on a controller to be honest (they were too slippery and too flat). The OLED ones are a bit concave and have a grippy material now.
I think Black Mesa is a definitive edition, if you want to replay the first Half Life
Buggy as hell on the Deck, in my experience. The lighting is completely busted, but it may be a Proton issue that I can’t be arsed to research and fix.
Cries in steam deck v1
Yeah I snagged Half-Life on the sale plus a couple of others.
I was hoping for big discounts on the newer AAA games like Hogwarts and Starfield but not so far…Nah no mods necessary. The first part will feel a little slow but stick with it and remember that these were the quake days, so people talking, acting things out in front of you, etc. was all brand new. So the game sort of revels in that for the first half an hour to an hour.
But it’s also a great atmospheric and combat game, and so it really picks up once shit hits the fan. Hope you enjoy it!
Damn, what an improvement from the LCD.
The first game I ever played was cs source I feel dam old lol
The first games I played were on an Amiga lol
I played the very first beta of CS when it was an HL mod.
I remember there was only a few guns and only one model, the teams had different skins and they were long and short sleeves. Friendly fire was always on.
It was a mess.
And the map facility, based on the Goldeneye map
It was fantastic
That’s what I’m talking about!
I’m 90% done with the campaign and beat it this go round entirely on the deck/with a controller. It’s not perfect but it definitely still holds up and plays well!
Transparent, eh? Who’s gonna be the first to add RGB mods to this?
true black, no backlight, mate screen, this looks too good to be true
It’s as true as an unedited iPhone photo is going to be! It’s a pretty remarkable screen.
