Depends on the state. The last minimum wage increase in Arkansas (my state) was implemented by ballot initiative. Naturally, the Republican controlled legislature began immediately having a collective seziure and scheming harder than ever to hamstring the ballot initiative process.

Always baffles me that people vote for initiatives while voting for politicians that vehemently oppose those initiatives on the same ballot.

I’ve worked too many places where “b” is absolutely the answer. Even small companies that you’ve probably never heard of where management is drinking the koolaid. They usually don’t like being asked why someone would actually pay for whatever bullshit they’re selling. The answer, almost without exception, is because one of their CEO buddies told them it was a good idea.

I don’t blame you. I hope I didn’t sound like I was minimizing your concerns. Motorcycles are absolutely more inherently dangerous, especially for the rider, than cars. Not only are motorcycles harder to see, but sometimes just being around them seems to [occasionally] make other drivers act dumber for some reason. You have no cushion around you like you would with a car. You have to put a lot more effort into being visible, thinking ahead, and anticipating danger zones. If you’re in an accident, you don’t have the luxury of four walls, a seatbelt, and airbags.

Then there’s the “physics” which are very different from the physics of a four wheeled vehicle. You not only have to understand those, you also have to basically beat your own instincts out of yourself so you automatically respond correctly when you do inevitabely find yourself in an emergency situation.

Statistically, the majority of motorcycle wrecks occur at speeds under 30 mph (~48 kph). Usually because someone didn’t see the rider and/or the rider either wasn’t aware of or didn’t know how to apply the appropriate technique. As a rider, you will be much safer with proper training and safety gear. But you will never be as safe as in a passenger vehicle. I don’t blame people who look at motorcycles and go “Nope. Hard pass.” at all.

In the corporate world, if you are taking on debt to fund operations, that’s an indicator that your business is circling the drain. The same applies to personal finance.

Riding is best learned with the appropriate amount of respect, a motorcycle safety foundation certified riding course, and lots and lots and lots of practice.

I, unfortunately, have to commute 35 miles one way, usually on my Honda motorcycle. I wish we had any semblence of mass transit at all. But we do not.

Large commercial HVAC package units often have an option called an “economizer”. It’s just one or more dampers that allow the unit to exchange inside air with outside air. A typical use case is when the unit gets a call from the thermostat for AC and outside air temp is lower than the room temp.

It’s more for heating and cooling efficiency than air quality. Its also very rare for homes to have this kind of setup due the added cost and the fact that, at least in the US, package units are much rarer in residential installs. Fresh air circulation systems are a custom job which means $$$.

Excess moisture in the crawlspace can absolutely cause condensation on the HVAC ducts when the AC is running. Especially if the ducts are uninsulated or poorly insulated, as is often the case in older homes.

Get a dehumidifier and dry it out. If needed, you could run the dehumidifier in the basement and put a fan in the crawlspace opening to circulate air.

The dehumidifier may be necessary even after the crawl space is dried out. We always have to run one in our basement in the summer.

That said, there are zero reasons why the condensate line should have been terminated in the crawl space. Dealing with incompetent contractors sucks.
