no question about it, i am ready to get hurt again
depends on your interpretation of course, but i think that’s a different statement to make back then then it is now. our view of/reliance on versatility and player rotation is very different now
it’s understandable i think - he had an excellent run of games. was a breath of fresh air for a decently long time after ospina/cech/leno/martinez etc. suits the system mostly. has a great story to his career too, really fought his way up.
just not quite the level we need unfortunately. dunno if Raya is either tbh but still. i guess our plan is to just not need a top tier keeper, just need someone who can pass and defenders to stop them needing to make saves. working so far imo
so thrilled for Tomiyasu’s return. competition for Zinchenko (and frankly any of our typical back 4) is crucial for us, we need a brick wall defence to enact our desired playstyle in the midfield&attack
shouts out to Kiwior also
Rice-Partey is a fantastic combo for those sort of games imo. totally locks the midfield, and allows Odegaard to be more free
graphic design is my passion
aye we robbed em. and the bloke is only going to get better
wish i could see some player reactions / bench cam for that rice goal. was pretty clutch
fit Partey is a no-brainer imo. one of the best midfielders in the world, especially in our kinda system.
think unfortunately ESR is stuck being a super-sub for a fair while, doesn’t look like he’s back to full force since his injury yet. could take a long time
fully fit Partey would have added a massive amount to the game today
it was a pretty wank performance tbh. don’t think it’s unfair to say that, it happens to every team sometimes
there’s a lot to love though and as the likes of Rice improve / settle into the system things are really going to get spectacular
aye back 4+rice was in title-winning quality. CBs in particular
hate to say it but we’re less entertaining to watch than last season, Odegaard being a casualty of that shift as indicated…
hopefully we’ll find a happy middle between attempting to prevent conceding goals, and providing fun football, i don’t think we’re too far off
