speak for yourself. chatgpt helped me program a medium-complexity task yesterday within ~3 hours which would have taken me about 1-2 weeks otherwise, i fear. especially, it’s really convenient because when you just don’t know some technical term, you can just describe what you mean and it will give you the correct keyword, while googling for that kind of information is difficult since you don’t even know where to start.

on a more serious note, i tend to go on dinner with my family sometimes too, about once per week if we both have time (mostly with my dad because he works close to where i live, so it aligns well), and i think that it’s good that i don’t just live my life in total social isolation, but these occasional randomly-meet-with-other-people-for-no-reason is really nice.

i’m pretty sure that extraterrestrial life exists somewhere in the universe, but i’m also pretty sure that the life on earth is the first conscious life in the millky way galaxy.

if there were others, they’d probably have developed spaceflight and found their way to us by now.

i think we need better federation with mastodon. at least, mastodon users should be able to see lemmy content and interact with it. (i can understand that the reverse, i.e. seeing mastodon content from lemmy is technically challenging)

also not federating with mastodon would mean to break the promise of the fediverse, that it’s all (somewhat) compatible.
