I’m not big on violence, and I don’t enjoy hitting people, but I’ve done it a couple of times and I’m always willing to throw down with nazis. If we’re not willing to defend ourselves and others, we might as well just hand them the keys and let them do whatever they want. That’s gonna be a hard no for me.

I mean, if there’s a fully functional way to order online, why would you call? I just prefer a phone call when something would take paragraphs to explain or if there really isn’t an easy way to do something via a website/email.

My coworker spent 30 minutes trying to find another way to contact a vendor after I told her the easiest way to order the thing she needed was just to call and it would take 2 minutes. I hate calling too, but that’s just dumb. Or maybe I just like efficiency more than I hate the phone.

Oh I don’t feel like I need to be welcoming to people who have no intention of listening and are just there to be dicks. I just don’t want to push away anyone who might be open to the idea of changing their diet by immediately telling them what a terrible person they are for not doing it already. It’s important to me not just to reduce the harm I do, but to try to minimize it elsewhere if I can.

Not to be all “not like the other girls” about veganism, but I kind of hate the general vegan communities. They always end up turning into a who can hate meat eaters the most contest and the less extreme members usually leave. It’s also really frustrating because the goal should be to get more people eating plant based, and their methods just push people away. Yeah, of course I believe people should stop eating meat, and I struggle to understand how someone can acknowledge the cruelty of factory farming and turn around and eat a burger, but shouting them down isn’t accomplishing anything. I’m not going to engage with the people who show up just to talk shit, but I’m down to talk to anyone actually open to a conversation.

That said, there are a lot of people who think it’s suuuuper funny to seek out vegan communities to make the same tired ass comments that lead to vegans becoming angrier and more insular, so I really don’t want to make this a Vegans Bad comment. I get the desire to tell people to fuck off. It’s exhausting to try to talk about a news article and be constantly drowned out by trolls.

OP, I don’t know what your comment said, but you know whether or not you were engaging in good faith. Maybe you deserved the ban, maybe not. I just think maybe sometimes we could all stand to keep scrolling.

That’s exactly what he was put there to do. Well, that and just generally disrupt the postal service enough to push people to their more expensive competitors. It’s dramatic but I always joke that he’s my nemesis. I’m just grateful that we have ballot drop boxes all over in CO where I live so that people don’t have to depend on the mail.

Oh yeah this one. Plus, wear a hat. My hairstylist found skin cancer on my scalp a year or two ago and now I have a bald spot where they removed it because scalp skin doesn’t have a whole lot of excess to close a wound. So cute. Thankfully, I can hide it, but it pretty much requires me to wear my hair up every day.

Eta: I feel like it should go without saying, but maybe doesn’t, that I was incredibly lucky that it was basal cell, not melanoma. A big scar is one of the best outcomes I could’ve had.

There’s a vegan sushi/ramen place near me that makes something between musubi and onigiri with vegan spam and they’re crazy good. So that’s one use for it.

My dog likes to come stick her tongue directly up my nose in the morning. I’m not sure if that’s better or worse than licking the pillow. Though her tongue is much smaller than Ghost’s, so at least there’s that.

They’d have to care that there are crises to bother trying to fix them. Trump only cares about his personal problems and I’m pretty sure Vance is some kind of robot with bad AI who will just stop charging himself if things get too bad.

I’m glad most of my dogs have been small enough to carry when they get old. I guess if they hadn’t been, I’d just have to be a lot stronger so I could lift them. I mean, I’d obviously never leave them to sleep on their own after years of sleeping in my bed.

I work with local-level politicians and we constantly complain about the ones that don’t do the reading. At our level, they nearly all have other jobs, so I get it, but we LOVE when they actually read what we give them and can ask relevant questions. It’s a thousand times better than the ones that just sit there and embarrass themselves every time they open their mouths.

I have a sword (tbh it’s kind of Spanish mall ninja shit, if the mall was a factory catering to tourists who want sharp souvenirs) and it’s not even that big, but it’s heavy. I know how many swords I can carry and the answer is one until I get tired. Then none.

Hard no. My day job is in government and I cannot take one more meeting in my life. I’ve attended some of the HOA meetings and they were actually worse than pretty much every meeting I have at work, because they last forever and the stakes are so stupid.

I finally got a 12 foot skeleton but our stupid HOA doesn’t allow Halloween decorations before 10/1. I think I need a festive fall outfit for it so I can say it’s not Halloween, it’s just seasonal.

I tried a piece of kibble when I was a kid, mostly because it bothered my mom and I thought it was funny. It wasn’t good, but it wasn’t the worst thing I’ve ever eaten. Most of my dogs have eaten pretty much whatever you offer them, except (of course) my chihuahua. She’d eat buffalo sauce but not a carrot. When she lost all her teeth, she’d eat a flavor of wet food happily for like, a week, and then refuse to touch it ever again, so I don’t think it was the food being gross as much as it was her being a picky little shit.
