The 1TB drive in the OLED deck is 3.3V/2.5A, so as long as a drive is within that spec I feel it’s a safe choice.

WD SN740 was 82 GBP yesterday (103 USD) on ali, including tax it was 99 GBP. I usually buy from Amazon but saving 80 GBP seemed worth the risk.
It is pretty good, the gameplay is a bit basic but the story is fun and the characters are funny like the films.
Cheaper on green man gaming btw
What’s the power spec on the 1tb stock drive? Is it still 3ish volts and 1.8 amps?
It would be interesting to see what the power spec for the 1tb stock drive is - and whether this matches the typical 3.3V/2.5A that we see on other NVMe drives.
In the UK, a 1TB SD card isn’t far off the cost of a 1TB NVMe upgrade - I’d choose the latter if I was doing it all again now. Back when I bought my 1TB SD card, the price difference was much bigger.
Performance wise, I haven’t noticed too many scenarios where games slow down or stutter due to the card - maybe the occasional open world RPG.
It’s available on Amazon for 25£, I just ordered one from there (the seller was Tomtoc EU store)
Interesting that they’ve changed the amperage to 1.8A vs 2.5 on the older SN740.
Yeah I was going to grab an extra 8bitdo controller but, to be honest, the PS5 controller I already own does a great job.
Is anyone going for a matte protector?
I see the magglass one being mentioned a lot, and brotect (film, not glass), Jsaux as well. I have no experience with any of them as I had the 512GB LCD previously.
