I own a Camry right now and my car just before that was a Hyundai Sonata.
Those here are correct that the Hyundai will likely depreciate more, and the Toyota will likely be a bit more reliable if you plan on keeping it for like 200,000 miles. Hyundai makes a good car, though. I had no real issues with my Sonata until the very end, where I started burning oil pretty badly at around 150K. (That can happen on Toyotas too). It was a good vehicle for me. I’d say the decision comes down to whether you want a small SVU or a compact sedan, as well as how long you plan on keeping the vehicle.
Of course it has an eCVT - it’s how the hybrid synergy drive works. As a Camry Hybrid owner it works very very well too. They’re also super reliable…they’re not like a standard CVT with a belt.
