I currently have a different problem with Amazon. I ordered a graphics card four weeks ago. No high end thing, a simple one with a price tag of €132. They confirmed sending it, then something happened, and shipping was delayed. I got the offer to cancel my order. Nope. I want that card. That’s why I ordered it. They currently have 10 of them in stock, but now priced €199. If I would cancel and order new i would have to pay the new price.
When I was a student, I already had my Novell admin certificate, so it got some jobs on the side. Someone pointed me to a law firm where the owner wanted their PCs networked. We met, he showed me the list of hardware he wanted to buy - everything top notch, big server, new PCs with all bells, whistles and gongs back then, 19in rack for all the necessities, etc. That list was an offer from an expensive office outfitter he knew.
He “just” needed someone to install the stuff. I could easily have done that, but all he offered was a kind of internship. Oh what I could learn from working with top of the pop equipment! I told him I was here because it already knew everything that was needed. He then offered me that I could take the old PCs as “compensation”.
I left, and warned others not to waste time with that idiot.
A German three letter agency had a similar ad. They were looking for someone who was proficient in encryption, hacking, protocols on Windows, Mac and Linux, and a few other things in that area. Experienced both in programming and leadership. And as a cherry on the top, this person would have to have knowledge about all the legal aspects of all of this, too.
All for a midrange bureaucrat salary. A security expert commented on this something like “if i had someone with that kind of skill set and experience, I would hire him out for a daily fee about as high as their offered monthly salary.”
If their president shits his pants, others should do that, too!

The “faucet” was water literally streaming in through the broken window during a thunderstorm. One of my coworkers went outside and shielded the window with a wooden board to reduce the flow.

Not selfhosting, but I remember standing in a server room with a hands’ width of water on the ground (and rising), and hastily shutting down servers where the water was already in the case. It were big towers (Compaq Proliant, if anyone remembers), and luckily the board, drives, and PSU were in the top part of the big tower cases, the drive bays at the bottom were empty.
We got all equipment out safely, and we did not get electrocuted, either. We left with the last equipment when the water level was approaching the knees.
My daughter got nearly mobbed by her co-students for “not telling which AI she used for writing her papers”. Her papers were regularly applauded for her good writing. She hates AI with a vengeance and wrote all her papers on her own. She is just good at this kind of thing.

At least with fat, protein, or sugar. Although the food industry would probably lobby for this to apply to lead or cadmium, too. Or any other chemical used in UHP foods.
I’d be careful especially with the eggs. The supermarket eggs here are about 60g, but can go down to 50g. The farmshop eggs here are 70 to 80g, but occasionally even bigger. 90+g double yolk eggs are my favourite, but they would complicate any baking recipe.

I once looked for an electronic part. I entered the part number, and got a crazy amount of irrelevant options listed, like female hygiene products, vases, clothing, and, somewhere in the list, the chip I was looking for.
Just for fun, I clicked some of those other articles and searched the page for the part number. No matches whatsoever. I don’t understand what made that algorithm presenting completely irrelevant stuff when there was one article in the list that matched my search term.
