I’d imagine they’re handling it like Nintendo handled their limited edition consoles over the years. Make a ton, warehouse them, distribute as supply allows. Nintendo’s limited-edition consoles could sit on shelves for years, although some went faster than others.

I’d give this a shot, if your BIOS update failing is what bricked the system.

It looks like you’ll have to buy some equipment, but you should be able to uncorrupt your BIOS and get things running again.

Every review other than this one for the Portal that I’ve read has said “We don’t know why this exists, you can only use it in your own home and you could do the same thing with a controller and a smartphone. It doesn’t seem to be better and might actually be worse.”
