Question for people saying this review is paid. Is it only “paid” when something you don’t like gets positively reviewed?
Why do you guys care though - first the switch and now this? Is your self worth and pride tied to the critical reception of a competitors product?

Honestly this just comes down to mainstream journalism being whatever. You can’t take it seriously. Granted I do think 7 is a fair score for the launch SD.
I really don’t see the appeal in the PS Portal though. $200 for remote play just seems silly.
first, dunno how you can compare the note of 2 different sort of device, ps portal isn’t a handheld console.
second, how the heck they gave 8 to basically something you can already do with a phone and your ps5 controller connected to that phone in bluetooth.
It seems like every post about the Portal is some weirdo crying about how it’s not insert other handheld despite the fact that it’s not trying to be. Every person that actually has one seems to be enjoying it for what it is
Good old IGN. At least the OLED Deck got a 9/10.
Who is the Portal even for? It doesn’t even play games, it just streams your PS5, and in my experience, the PS streaming is fucking awful.

How does this even apply? These are very different devices. And this review is based on the steam decks release. steam OS wasn’t as good as it is now.
IGN is and always will be a joke.
Doesn’t matter if the Steam Deck wasn’t polished at release, you could already install chiaki and it would be 50 times more useful than the Portal on release. It can do literally one thing, and that’s it. IGN proves yet again they’re a laughing stock.
They complain about so many things that I don’t know how they gave it more than a 6… 🤷♂️
