  • My wife got her step dad one and I inherited it when he died. I tinkered around with it a bit but it definitely won’t replace a bi-directional and know how. I definitely wouldn’t drive with it stuck in the OBD port. But it’ll help keep track of maintenance items like changing oil, rotating tires, changing wiper blades, checking battery life and charge.

    It’s for the completely ignorant of how to fix vehicles. It will give you common fixes for codes. It’s basically like going to the parts store without talking to a wannabe mechanic on the other side of the counter. But as far as a cheap, compact code reader, if you get it for a good price it’s not bad. Just don’t pay for the subscription.
