  • I got myself a synology about 8 years ago for the same reasons you listed up. NAS storage local and out, while being able to run a few small services like Plex for streaming media (looking to try Jellyfin at some point).

There is a premium cost for the NAS but att I didn’t want to fiddle around building my own and then setting up something like Unraid, which atm is running on and old laptop and might be my pick for my NAS solution in a few years.

  • Worst kind of commenter. I bet when people ask for advice on buying sneakers you list 5 pair of sandals, and bait to start an argument against wearing shoes…

Anyway OP I also just looked on my iPhone and get the same results as the top poster for widgets. Does indeed look like they changed it at some point. I am also sure I had one with buttons for lights on both the phone and watch.

  • So you do use an iPhone great! Because it’s the only phone OS not bypassable by your own government and FaceID is optional. Making their password unlock th most secure in the industry and being someone of high authentication security you must then use it right?

Ofc you don’t, you just shit on an optional featur bacuse you have other totally unrelated issues with the device or should I say company…

  • Why not a responsive web app packaged into native viewer app? Depending on your utilization of native components of cause.

My team had the same issues you described so we build the web responsive and made that the “Apps” on the App Store + Google Play. There is still a tiny native components that hook into the web so you still need those native developers knowhow, but yes they will have to switch in large to web based development.

Less maintenance, more devs for the main product, faster progress, fewer headaches with Apple and Google tooling.

Edit: forgot to app that our customers loved that more features are available now on the “Apps” and that things work the same between devices

  • Not sure what you mean :)

My point was that the article was making false assumptions about Europeans are cooling on EVs as a whole based on one dataset which cherry picked Germany.

I will make a few assumptions of my own based on what I see: 1: Germany Auto industry have been show to make good EVS, they do huge hybrids 2: Germany have a culture of huge German SUV and Sedan cars (much like macho culture of Americans with trucks). 3: Germans love buying German cars 4: Germany subsidies it’s own cars more than imported cars (whatever the fuel type)

All that I would think would have a much higher effect on German buying trends than whatever EV vs CE vs Hybrid debate they try to pin the data on.

Again they have to show me legit data across Europe if you wanna show “a trend” in Europe, not one country which have a huge vested interest in not adopting imported EVs which are better/cheaper than their German counterparts.

  • 8-16 each day is 40 hours not counting the breaks. (Counting them would make it 37)

So do Swedish people work from 8-16, 9-5 or do office workers work from 8-17, 9-6 everyday (inkluding Friday)?

I have family in Malmö and that is not the case for them. Can’t speak in the standard for Sweden but I worked closely with Norwegians and they had the same 8-16 (8-15 Friday) in Oslo as we did in in Denmark(KBH).

  • It seems to be a misleading title.

It mentions a European associations data but then they only point to the German Market, that Germans are cooling on electric.

I see no numbers for that being the case in say in Denmark where I live, where even people with hybrids are switching to electric due to legislation placing hybrids in the same category as CE cars. No body here is “cooling on electric” and we have a much higher rate of adoption than Germany, easily veried by a small trip over the border.

Europeans are not cooling on electric, maybe Germans are, but Germans are Europes “Murica” when it comes to cars. They require huge German SUVs with a minimum speed of 200 kmh on the autobahn…
