Yeah I would definitely let them know the deal, as much as you know. Did you just not have a PPE done before you bought it?

The injector could have been on its last leg. When was the last time coils and plugs were done? Assuming the injectors are original.
Without having access to the tune info, it becomes a lot less simple. Have you had a shop take a look at the DME? (Maybe during the PPE?)
No offense but it sounds like you’re a little out of your depth with this. Especially when it was running fine and you were that far from home.
Might want to find a local Indy shop and see how soon they could take a look at it.
You’re not running a tune, right? Which codes are you getting exactly?
True, but usually the marginal cost > marginal quality/utility. That’s the problem with Audi.
Yep good point.
OP I’ve changed my mind - you should actually find the most expensive run-flats you can find and buy 6 of them.
Keep two in your backseat at all times, because that’s what rich people do.
Depends on if how the car handles is important to you. If it is, don’t get run-flats.
Cons: Every single part of this is a bad idea.
Pros: You haven’t done it yet and still have time to make a better choice.
Most of this sub absolutely cannot conceive that some people are troll-badging.
“But your car indicates your status! Are these people out of their minds?!?”
Idk you should probably go find your kids first. I’d start by asking your baby.
These two cars have absolutely nothing in common aside from 4 wheels and the letter “X”.
If having an EV and/or being a fan of Elon are the most important things to you, get the Tesla - otherwise it’s not even close.
I’m guessing since you’re considering both, you haven’t test driven each of them. You should do that.
How much to fix?
How much is your insurance deductible? (That’s the amount it will cost)
Just tell them you were driving through grass at 3am.
Gotcha. Well hopefully it’s not a big deal, like just needing a new injector. Definitely see if they can help you figure out the tune/DME situation.
And who knows, you could find a great new Indy shop near your parents for the future.
