Just sold my f80 for a g87, and my wife has an sq5. Not gonna lie, I love the sq5, it’s super comfy and nimble, sounds amazing. But the m cars are obviously on another playing field as far as performance.

Wanna be MB/BMW under the guise of some tech toys and AWD. Def not the same, never was and never was intended to be.

Audis are nice but not for me. I like fun RWD sports cars that have stick shifts. Been a while since Audi offered something like that.

    So we had the sq5 now q7 and I have a g80 m3.

Audi is underrated as a fun car. Before my m3 I had 2 a4s. First one got totaled but I felt like I got hit by a pillow, hence the second one.

Only reason I don’t have an s4 or rs4 (before getting m3) is no manual. I refuse.

M3 is fun all the time. I put 10k miles on it already since March and it’s my second car… 🥴😬

On looks alone I think BMW is much better design. Just going from the picture with the S Q5, put it next to an X5M, there’s no comparison.

Was in the market for a B8.5 S4 (6spd) the last few months but decided to pass on it and get another BMW.

Those Audi guys expect too much money for a ten year old car with 70k-80k+ miles…

I swear it’s because Jeremy Clarkson named that engine as one of his top 3 of all time. Ever since then anything with the 4.2 has gone up in value lol

The S4 was always a 6 cylinder no? And the 4.2 is pretty meh when the S65 in the M3 exists which is basically its competitor. Neither are good dd’s unless you are swimming in cash

I daily drive a SQ5. Love it. Great balance of fun and comfort. Quattro gives me confidence. Sound system is great. Dream is M series but I’m plenty happy right now.

I have a 2021 R8 AWD and a 2023 M3 Comp Xdrive. Other than the engine sound of that V10, I actually prefer driving the M3 more, as it is more comfortable and the handling feel is better. It’s also as fast as the R8, easily.

Neither feel as good as a Porsche, though, but I’m done with that brand, regardless of how amazing the steering and suspension are.

Longtime BMW owner with e39 M5, e60 m5, e70 x5, F15 x5. Got a Q7 TDI to change brands and I ABSOLUTELY disliked the way Audi’s drive. I thought the driving position had too many blind spots and then there was the way my Q7 disliked to turn. I thought something was broken on my Q7, until someone told me the engine on Audis sits far ahead of the steering axle which means they will never be as happy to turn into corners as even my heavy x5 with near 50/50 weight distribution. I might consider a Porsche at some point but def not getting an Audi again 😂

Thinking about getting a RS4 or M3 xdrive. RS4 is a little bit old, and probably less fun, but it’s enough for me because Quattro and 450hp. M3x is way newer and more fun since it can switch rwd and awd, but little expensive. Can I have some tips from you(Audi and bmw performance car owner)?🤓 oh! I drove G20 320i right now

I have an x3m and love BMW but I’m considering an RS5 coupe as a second fun daily, was wanting an M4 but for money you’re spending the G80 and G82s front is just plain ugly lol I don’t need to be told I’ll get used to it since I’m the one buying. So owning both Bmw and Audi is fine

I wanted an RS car for the longest time until I drove them. After having a modern M car the RS cars are meek in comparison. Just sayin.

Rs cars are a joke aside from the avant. Terrible performers compared to the rest of the class.

True, I dont track the cars so thats no concern for me. I do agree Bmw makes great engines, and the S58 is superb. But can’t cay the same for the looks, I like style and for the money I want to enjoy looking at my car as much as the drive. The G82 fails in the looks department. Hense Rs5 is my alternative. Till BMW gets they’re shit together

All depends honestly. I have a G80 in transit and personally love the look, especially modded (lowered, CF goodies, etc). The G82 I agree is not great proportionally, looks very off in stock format. It’s just tough if you’ve driven the M cars to really go with the RS cars performance wise. They feel straight up neutered comparing the drive trains. But if it were between G82 and an RS5 I would pick the Audi I think. There’s trade offs left and right and it really all comes down to preference.

get a rs5 competition if you want a RS5, The regular one is good but the competition brings it up to whole new level

The under appreciated asset of the performance Audis is the sport version of the Quattro drivetrain, puts up to 80% of power to the rear. Quattro gives you so much confidence in putting your foot down, even in the rain, that you can always have fun in it no matter what. I had a ZL1 Camaro and my SQ5 was almost faster around town bc I never worried about pulling out into traffic with my foot hard down.

It’s a great feeling that I’ve never had in another brand.
