If it was upheld, then if City are ever charged, every team that lost out on cups or titles those years would have a case. He’ll every team in the CL who got thrashed by City but who ended up 3rd in group would have claims.

As a Liverpool fan, ignoring the ones involving us, I used to live the Newcastle Sunderland ones. Always seemed to have drama and upsets and proper old school niggles between the players.
That said even if it ever came back it wouldn’t be the same with Newcastle now mega rich…
No I think they are disillusioned and aren’t understanding what they are supposed to be doing. There also seems to have been zero consideration in the expensive player acquisitions over various managers to getting both a balanced squad and identifying players with the right ethos and personality. Which is something a lot of big clubs do as they seek players who are dedicated and care more about improving as players than partying or hanging out with celebrities.
Take Liverpool, for example. It isn’t a coincidence how so many of the players have spouses or long-term partners and children. Odds are greatly increased on them being mature and responsible.
Yeah when they spent their PL money on players, like the young keeper, it was players for the long term who shouldn’t kick up a fuss if they play championship next year.
The plan is to develop a team that can succeed in the PL not scrape by few seasons, have a massive wage bill, and then get relegated.
I am surprised how badly they are doing but they will likely stick with Kompany unless they find who they feel is a better young manager to develop the team long term.
I read they actually can’t sue, but they can present compensation demands through a process set up by the PL that the clubs signed in to use in any situation like this.
