I updated and the only issue I had was microSD cards no longer mounting. There’s a solution to it (after a day of headache) and Valve is looking into it. Other than that, have had no issues with 3.5.5. However, some games may no longer work. Only game I’ve run into that stopped working is Black Ops 3. No one but Valve or Activision can fix it, as it’s not a Proton issue but an OS issue.

You can use ethernet and charge at the same time. Just choose any Dock that has an ethernet port.

Use Clonezilla and back it up to a USB. Then use that same USB (via Clonezilla) to restore the backup to the new Deck.

Yup, game crashes for me. With mods, without mods, solo, splitscreen, online, offline. Nothing. Crashes when loading the map. Only thing I haven’t done is verify the game files.

Tested with Kino and Shadows of Evil. One ti test DLC, the other to test base game. Both crash when loading the map (in Shadows of Evil’s case, the cutscene). I changed Proton versions and got the same results.

Yeah, it’s just running maintenance tasks. Give it like 5 minutes. You can check if maintenance tasks are running by going to Settings>System, then scrolling all the way down.

Upgrade the internal for stuff like compatdata and/or shadercache, then put bulk of your games on a microSD.

Steam now has the option to transfer games between PC over LAN. Otherwise, you could load them all up onto a microSD card. You’ll just need a Linux PC (just install Linux onto an external drive), as the cards need to be EXT4 format. Then you can just pop in the microSD and play your games.

Do you have a microSD inserted? If so, it may be running maintenance tasks on it.

Haven’t played BO3 on Deck in a while, but I remember playing split-screen (even remote play together) with zero issues. However, I recently learned that supposedly the game has been broken for a couple months from a SteamOS update. Will try the game later on and see if I get the same results (assuming you haven’t solved the issue by then).

It will probably be an ISO file. As long as you know how to mount an ISO and install a game from it, you should be good. Just have to add the installer’s exe as a Non-Steam Game. Once the game is installed, go to the game’s properties and change the target path to the game’s exe. Dunno if the PC port has controller support or not.

Other option (that might be easier) is to just emulate the GameCube or PS2 version.

If you don’t mind using AliExpress, Lenovo Thinkbuds GM2 Pros are less than $10 USD. They have a dedicated “gaming mode” to reduce latency. Sometimes you’ll still get lag. Just switch between modes again to fix it.
