USA are still playing catch up but it’s becoming more popular over time and they have the money and infrastructure to challenge. USA 2026 will raise its profile further. I can see USA winning a World Cup before 2050.

Fantastic achievement from Porto and was a lesson in defensive football.

Everyone wrote Liverpool off at half time and their comeback in the second half was crazy.
- 2022 final between Liverpool and Real Madrid

I just remember it for the insane goalkeeping display by Courtois. Almost single handedly won his team that game, was unbeatable in the Madrid goal.
If you have a deterministic outlook then luck doesn’t really exist, as all outcomes have already been predetermined - even me writing this post. Physics has already set everything in motion and determined how you will respond to this post too. You’re not actually in control y’know?
But people use luck, fate, and other attributes to help make sense of the rich tapestry that emerges from the chaos.

I doubt it makes much difference compared to every other young player who goes to a big academy - massive amount of pressure on young players to succeed in general, only 1% or so make it to a pro contract.
It is fairly common to have some young players hyped up - Kendry Paez is another youngster already signed for £10m+ whilst still playing in Ecuador.
