1 year agoYou know, if you just pay full sticker price then it’s exactly like buying from Tesla. You select your car, pay the listed price, and sign the papers. Easy peasy. But of course, you don’t get the best deal if you go this route, just like you don’t get the best deal on a Tesla by paying their listed price. Anyone that got caught with a pre-price-drop Tesla will tell you how much that sucked.
I don’t know why people think that not having to negotiate is a benefit to them. It only benefits the seller.
I’ve owned a couple of Teslas and now a Rivian. I think the dealership experience is actually better because you can go pick out your car, physically inspect it for obvious defects, and drive home the same day. My first Tesla convinced me that I will never buy an ICE car again. My Rivian is the best car I’ve ever owned. But helping my mom buy a Lexus yesterday was the best purchasing experience I’ve ever gone through.
