I can understand the argument of why people think he is better. He probably is, but he lacks certain qualities that was needed for the rebuild Arteta did. Which is why he is a huge trap for Manchester United, if they fire Ten Hag then Emery will fail for all of the same reasons that made him fail in Arsenal. I doubt Arteta would have the same success with Villa as Emery. I think they both would perform worse than the other if they changed jobs tomorrow.
Emery is probably a greater manager than Arteta, but I don’t think he could do the kind of rebuild that Arteta did. If he signs for United next season he will fail for all the same reasons that he failed at Arsenal. If he is smart he will stick with Villa until at least 2026 and hope that Klopp leaves Liverpool at the end pf his contract. I think they are the perfect type of club for him. Could probably elevate Spurs a lot so we need to hope that Ange doesn’t fail too hard this season.

It’s a trophy, but it’s so minor that I don’t see the point. Why would we want to keep risking injuries and fatigue to compete on four fronts. I would much rather see us go one round further in the CL or stay competitive in the league for as long as possible. The FA cup is the real English cup trophy with a history and glory where it is worth to play our best players.
