Dang that sounded annoying, glad Bazzite helped your deck. Good to know if mine ever acts up the same

Same thing, both words describe the same thing.

Ive heard very good things about CachyOS, tho I have not personally tried it. Seems to be the gaming distro of choice when people want a more normal linux, aka not atomic.

I do not have an Nivida card, but I udnerstand Nvidia on bazzite (and linux in general) is tougher than AMD to get things working nicely. As for the terminal, I have never once NEEDED to use to terminal in the last year. I have of course used it to do things, but it was rarely the Only way to do what I was trying to do.

Maybe what I am about to say is unpopular, but once I stopped trying to install programs that dont have a flapak from the bazzar store, my life got easier. Of course to counter that statement, I have several programs that are appimages that I control via Gearlevel, then a few windows apps running via faugus.

Also if anything tells you to use lutris, it is wrong, lutris imo is crap, and should not be sued ever; Lutris has not worked once for me.

What issues did your LCD deck have?

As far as I know Bazzite just needs to be on its own drive. It doesn’t or didnt play nicely with any other OS on the same physical drive; I Know that is the case for windows. Bazzite should not be installed on the same drive as a windows install. I am making an assumption that holds or at least held true for other linux distros as well.

I personally dont have any other distros installed so I cannot be sure on the above.

I have been using Bazzite as my main os for nearly a year now. I tried to swap to linux a few times over the last ~15 years, and always had to go back to windows. I like the atomic nature of it, while it does making installing some software a little harder the peace of mind I gain more than makes up for it for me.

As @winsens says WoW Forever is basically Vanilla+ or Classic+ there are a mountain of changes but a very top level view is the world will never go to BC, it will remain on Azeroth forever, 60 cap forever, new raids, new dungeons, changed talent trees, some new spells, new areas, new stories, it is a complete divergent timeline vs the OG vanilla>tbc>wrath>etc.

One thing I am curious about Longer term is the devs only said staying on Azeroth, which means Nothrend is still on the table in my mind, or it could be, as are many continents retail wow unlocked over the years.

How close is it to Classic? Id say closer to classic than TBC or wrath, even tho several changes from those expansions have made their way into Forever, like unified hit for melee/spells, and a host of other tweaks. https://wowguide.net/en/guides/what-is-wow-forever

Plainsrunning looks so cool! I did consider Tauren too, but since I am planning shaman I figured ghost wolf will have to do.

Druids just got some more changes like days ago I think, some to feral and resto.

My friends and I are going PvE this time (Did PvP in classic and we all universally disliked it, We remember P2), Horde. I am going to go Shaman, but I am unsure on race, But I am leaning Orc over Troll at the moment, the ability to decurse myself will be huge in raids (I assume).

I had almost played shaman back in og vanilla, but ended up with Hunter. This time I am going with my first pick of Shaman. I am planning on being Resto/Ele at 60, tho Ill likely level Ench, so maybe Ill stick to that for my dps spec at cap.

I wonder if this is why an old friend of mine who worked at Epic as a manager of sorts in the AI department was let go recently, I bet he would have pushed super hard against an all AI or AI first mode to coding.

Hey I just realized this is the same dude who said the Trump Admin’s plan for Iran post midterms was unhinged and could undermine the rule of law

For The Way of Kings, I read the book and listened to the audio book at the same time. The audio is far slower than my reading pace, but without it I would have 100% read damn near every name incorrectly.

SoH took like 1 minute to get working, I downloaded it, added my legally obtained ROM, then started it.

Ok I briefly looked into Quiver Launcher it seems super neat. I’ll need to look into this longer later.

From my logs nothing bad happened to any of my services. I turned off my entire homelab for a few days until every single app/service had an update. Then I turned everything on, updated and that was that.

One cool thing I have is https://github.com/lklynet/hypermind totally pointless, but I like it.

I know it isn’t the new version, but Ship of Harkinian is great especially with HD textures and a bit of tweaking controls. Being able to make my controls like Dark Souls was pretty cool. Oh setting the camera farther back was also super nice, I forgot how close behind Link the camera was. Just finished collecting all 100 Golden Skulltula’s this morning in fact.

Pretty good considering the weather. We got rained on, but the kids still had fun. There was noticeably less people out vs years past, due to the weather: however still more than I had expected.

I think the you/techtuber community loves to ride Protons D*ck. I would call many of them fanboys.

even with E2EE on? I literally just set up a matrix server for my friends and I, but the only reason I went with it is becasue it is encrypted
