Hes gonna be great but i saw things like “3 time dpoy and first team all defense every year of his career” “could be a better version of giannis” hell even paul pierce recently said hes already a top 5 skilled player in the league. Like people are trying to overrate him already and he hasnt even played yet
I love this subs perception of Wemby. Before the draft he was the greatest prospect ever, then he wasn’t even a better prospect than Zion, then he was going to change the league and be the GOAT defender, then he became a future bust due to him not being strong enough and now he is going to become the GOAT…
exactly. A prospect is exactly that. He has great potential. He may become good, he may become great. There is a really good chance he will be another injury prone young big man since he lacks strength for the position.
That’s what the Kings thought about Marvin Bagley when he played at Duke.
He will be good but you are making him an all time great before he ever plays a regular season game. GTFO with this nonsense. Big men get more blocks during their rookie season and then players figure out their size and start playing around them better.
I dont get how there is no understanding that players will get used to his length and blocks will stop coming as easily. Early in James Wiseman’s first season he was averaging almost 2 blocks a game. Players and teams figured him out. Same was true with Bol Bol and Marvin Bagley.
Big Men usually see a dip in blocks per game after their first season for this reason. Big men are super hit or miss. They are more injury prone and dude is going to get roughed up
The fact that this only has 50 upvotes shows how overrated he really is. I understand the hype but all that before playing in a game?
They’re gonna be real let down when his career doesn’t last 20 seasons or he doesn’t get blessed with 6 rings. He’s in the NBA at the same time as Jokic. At a hyper polarized time in general. There are also risk injuries with being that tall.
His team is also ass, there’s a reason they were the first pick. It’s hard winning a chip.
Wemby, easy.
Never played an actual NBA game, “Generational player”, “Future GOAT?”
Craziness all around.

The only way to find out is to watch
None of those things are unrealistic imo
Tbf 3 time dpoy and first team all defense every year isn’t crazy for a dude who’s 7’4 and moves like he’s 6’10

It’s always like this though. Remember when every single basket Chet made was front page NBA Reddit in his preseason? It’s a cycle every single year
Ehh…I don’t think he’s overrated. He’s rated very high but it seems to be valid

He’s going to fizzle out so fast. He’s the epitome of timid and frailty.
He’s a generational prospect, yeah. We haven’t seen a prospect as good as him since LeBron.
fr, I’m seeing HOF lock and Yao Ming floor already.
He’s amazing. His potential for injury is also the highest for any player in NBA history.
Heard an NPR interview today where they explained that Lebron was passing the mantle to him……
