yea awesome job ignoring the rest of the line,
and it’s probably true, Riley most likely didn’t think Dame was going to change the Heat’s title chances that much. There would be significant defensive problems they would have to address. Also Dame is probably better when he has a pick and roll threat like Giannis, he would have had to adjust the way he plays in Miami more.
It’s hard to say that adding Dame wouldn’t alter the way they play. He would drastically alter their offense and impact their defense.
