Contrary to previous report in the Mail, Andoni Iraola retains the support of the Bournemouth hierarchy and will be in charge for Saturday’s game against Burnley.

Iraola is yet to win a Premier League game since replacing Gary O’Neil at the Vitality Stadium. O’Neil’s current club Wolves came from behind to win at Bournemouth on Saturday.

Alex Scott could save his job. You could tell he’s a very good player but lacked match fitness against us… game against Burnley at the weekend is a must win.

Worst team we’ve played against this season by far. A far cry from O’Neil’s side who came to the Emirates last season with an effective setup and plan and were frankly unlucky to lose in the end.

Iraola has had hard fixtures so far but getting smashed by Everton hardly gives him a case, he needs to turn it around fast.

It’s so interesting how managers are discussed. It all depends on PR. I was listening to the BBC podcast and some of the analysts were talking about something along the lines of Villa and Emery and if he is a elite manager because he makes players better despite failing at other clubs. Of course any supporter would want their team to have a clear identity and all that crap, but in a situation like this where the coach doesn’t have the players to implement his game models surely that manager has to be criticized for not making adjustments and putting players in positions to succeed. People praised the recruitment for getting that Hungarian left back but they also signed two injured players. Even the guys they got in January who saved them have looked like donkeys under this Spanish guy.

While Bournemouth sacking O’Neil was still stupid, Iraola is a good coach and has been hurt by trying to implement a new style of football while a bunch of his new signings have been injured. So I do somewhat understand why they’re retaining support of him, but time has to be running out.
