Wow. A goalkeepers stats and nothing about saves or clean sheets . Since when has a goalkeeper just been a midfielder? With these stats, Paul Scholes would have been a fantastic keeper.

      Exactly xD

It’s almost certain to find stats for the player which you support which support the narrative you want to push. As a goalkeeper I want to see him making saves and not howlers Having the highest pass percentage in the league, and conceding >1 goal a match makes for a weird showing for a goalkeeper!

Arsenal making 900 passes in a game and losing 2-1 doesn’t help anyone

Even those back Raya though. 75% save percentage vs. 55% for Ramsdale. 60%cs for Raya and 25% for Ramsdale. 8 out of 12 shots saved by Raya. 5 out of 9 for Ramsdale. You could say it’s too small a sample size which is true but based on last season Raya beats Ramsdale as well. I really don’t care about which one of them do start but a few weeks ago people were calling for Raya to play and now the opposite. I don’t really care who plays as long as it’s better for the team but right now stats back Raya in any case. The fact that he makes fans nervous isn’t new. Brentford fans have said he’s prone to doing that.

These stats highlight the importance of context when analyzing performances. For instance, Ramsdale played the first three Premier League matches in a formation experiment by Arteta, where Partey played right back and Ben White was in the center, alongside Saliba. This formation was susceptible to counterattacks, resulting in sloppy goals against Fulham and Nottingham Forest. Comparing this to Raya playing with our first-choice center-back pairing and fullbacks is like comparing apples to oranges.

Youre not wrong. People are complaining about the absence of goalkeeping stats here. I’m just providing said stats. There’s still pros and cons to both. Ramsdales gk stats from last season were pretty poor as well. Raya’s was better. Different systems and all that are another thing to consider but i dont think its abaolutely clear that Raya should be dropped right now. A couple more games with Raya still having the same issues and a change would be wise. However, we need to try to make this work because Ramsdales underlying stats from last season and this season haven’t been amazing so I’d say give Raya at least 10 games.
