If he chooses to invert with partey at rb then you will see Gabriel and zinchenko getting dropped on the bench with tomi and partey starting in their place. It’s clear he wants a pair of overlapping cb/fb hybrid on one side and an inverter on the other. If Gabriel could do what white can when he play rb then Gabriel wouldn’t have been dropped.

but Timber is like-for-like with zinchenko. And gabriel was benched in that first game of the season despite timber playing in zinch’s stead.
