He’s a good player who has his moments but I think most would agree he isn’t up to the level that we are aiming for. Seems like a great guy but I wouldn’t be upset if we moved him on to help fund an improvement.

I remember this sub going nuts on Eddie after last season Man Utd home game. Most of the people in this sub wanted Jesus to be benched for Eddie.

Woala now everyone sees that he doesn’t brings anything special to the team. Yes he is a good lad and nice person, but as a pure footballer he is a bang average at best.

I love Eddie. I think he is a really good player. Hope he continues to play for Arsenal. Fans are way too harsh on him. Not everyone develops as quickly as Saka and Martinelli. Some need time, patience and guidance. I am glad we have a club and manager that are willing to give those things.

He’s 24 though, that’s not a youth player biding time waiting for an opportunity to showcase what he’s got.

Honestly, and hockey fans will appreciate this more, Eddie strikes me as an enforcer for the squad. We all remember when he got in the face of Declan last year. We lost that when Granit left. I think Eddie is strong too and can push a defender around, also something no one else gives us (maybe Jesus too?). But I agree that he doesn’t create too much opportunity, though he’s decently clinical in front of goal which is the bare minimum for a side like Arsenal. He had a good run last winter; let’s see if that’s his preferred season to have some production.

The stats split here is not that helpful as it can’t really differentiate the different contexts in which Eddie was brought on. So the analysis would have to go deeper to be meaningful about the specific question “Nketiah: Better as starter or supersub?”

But the very fact that you need to dig so deep in specific areas probably answers the question of “What is Nketiah’s stand out talent?”. And the answer is still “not really sure” or maybe more kindly that he is an all rounder that is a decent team player.

Eddie works decently hard and has some threat about him but he doesn’t really bring something different to transform a game. He has improved each year but not massively so to the point where his growth curve is undeniable. He is what he is, you still need squad players and if he puts the work in then so be it. If the time comes we can improve and he can find a new spot then great, until then he is serviceable.

It’s hard to say anything negative if the most prolific striker at the moment is also struggling in the EPL. A striker is only as good as the supply and also the defenders guarding him.

I don’t think are strikers are going to get much opportunities.

If we get an A1 finisher, I doubt he would be any use if he isn’t able to press or create chances for himself.

I would only be interested in another striker if we are getting a target man of a striker. I.e. Ivan Toney

Tbh, I hope he goes to a mid table team and smashes it with a consistent 15+ goals per season

I would bet he gets at least 8g with 30+ starts. He is decent an i like him a lot. I think he had his redemtion arc with us and its always going to be an unfavourable comparison to Halland and other top ST’s in the Prem.

Giroud took some years to win over support from many. But its just as likley Eddie never does.

The french NT did a lot for his rep. Maybe Nigeria would have been Eddies chance.

Eddie doesnt cut it at Arsenal in any context.

In the modern game, working hard is an expectation rather then being something to brag about.

I have often said he is the worst player on a technical level in the squad
