Some food preparation can’t be done fully in the microwave, this has helped me minimize radiating heat into the apartment during hot days lately.
This is another thing I love about my induction range. The burners themselves don’t get hot, so the kitchen heats up less than it did with my old stove.
Why not use an electric water kettle?
I always do this with the kettle anyway just because it’s so much quicker.
don’t we have induction cooktops or standalone induction hotplates (which is what we poors use) and a lid on a pot ?

TBF, even having a microwave in the home is meh —but I’ll admit to bias here, after decades in culinary. (they’re often referred to as “Chef Mike”)
There are several ways to heat water w/o (and better than) a microwave, but the concept is sound enough. 😁
