Loreto Javar has missed cancer treatments, developed a blood clot and suffered rapid weight loss during more than two months in ICE’s Tacoma concentration camp.
Now imagine the first party comes back into power and goes ‘wow, thank god that will never happen again!’ twice more and does nothing to change the incredibly abuse-prone system, and you might have something approaching an analogy with context. Republicans are not the only party that has been in power since 9/11.
This is completely ignoring that historically ‘centrist’ (conservative) Democrats have championed their immigration stance as ‘common sense’, ie indistinguishable from their Republican opponents.
