And this was only the vendors page. There was another main page for advertisers.

It is scandalous how much information is gathered for such a simple app.

Edit: I already unticked all the ‘legatimate interest’ ones.

Whenever I come across an app like this, I delete it right away. I’m not going to go through all the settings. I can get by just fine without these kinds of spy apps.

Unticking legitimate interest is a dark pattern made to waste your time. That toggle is literally pointless since it doesn’t involve consent, the only way to stop “legitimate interest” brokers is to sue them and demonstrate they do not in fact have it

Wait a month and you get to do it all over again!

Seriously, if you click accept all the app/site will remember your choice forever, but mess with the settings, they “forget” your choice in a month and you’re looking at that same page again.

When does it ask you these? In the US, apps don’t even give you a choice. I have to have a separate app to block them. Now I just try to avoid any non FOSS apps in general because I can run the blocker and a VPN at the same time.

I think thats the standard google add bullshit. Thit doesn’t feel like it complies to eu law, but somehow it does apperently.
And what anoys me the most about this is that legitimite interest already includes saving all your data, building a profile of you and selling that data. So what the hell is not legitimate interest? Selling your soul?

Set your vpn to a eu country, more and more websites and apps have a button ‘allow necessary only’ or ‘reject all’. Not sure what the new law exactly asks of them but it feel it working already.

Personal experience is that 2-3 years ago you had to search for a small hidden line of text and now much more often it is not this kind of shit. Especially this year I feel it’s become more easy to reject cookies. Also the ‘accept our cookies or pay a way too expensive subscription to access our website’ type of pop-upe seem to have vanished. Not saying we’re there yet, and also not saying i know what it is like everywhere in the world.

I have probably the exact opposite experience before I degoogled months ago and now on many other websites. There are more and more “pay for our service” pop-ups and also more “reject OPTIONAL” which excluded like google trackers and also different telemetry stuff. Probably just a different interest problem.
