Okay maybe I’m exaggerating a bit.

It’s one of my favorite pieces of spelling trivia.

People assume it should be spelled “just desserts” because of the pronunciation. It’s spelled “just deserts” because it’s an antiquated noun derived from the same root as “deserve” (and it’s pronounced like that for the same reason).

You sound like the type of person who defends the misspellings of words until it becomes accepted in dictionaries, so we no longer have a word to distinguish dirt from ice cream.

The first thing I bought from the first salary I got from my first job was a dishwasher. Best purchase ever.

I also struggle immensely with dishes. To the point I’ve started paying one of my roommates to do mine every few days 😬

my latest thing that makes it barely tolerable has been putting an anime to play on my phone during. though this limits me to dubs since my Japanese isn’t anywhere near good enough to understand without being able to keep my eyes on the subtitles

also I can highly recommend the BBC radio comedy “Cabin Pressure,” about a bunch of misfit pilots and airline staff of a charter airplane. Absolutely hysterical and perfect for dishes-type tasks

it does, unfortunately. though at least it’s English style which tends to not be as overdone as American style laugh tracks in my opinion. totally get why that’s a dealbreaker though
