Imagine a simple closed system.

A bank has $10 and it has 10 customers that each borrow $1

Each customer is required to pay back $1 plus $0.10 in interest

So each customer owes $1.10

This adds up to $11 so all 10 customers are now fighting g each other for that extra dollar that didn’t exist. The only logical outcome is someone has to go bankrupt

This is a simplified version…But it’s essentially where we all find ourselves… We’re all fighting each other to get the interest the banks add in a system where the money is just conjured up out of thin air anyway.

Why do we put up with this?

Not religious by any means, but the Islamic Banking might be of… interest.

tl;dr - Muslims believe interest is a sin because you can’t create something out of nothing.

Christians also believe usury is a sin they just saw how rich the jewish people they forced to become moneylenders were getting and decided to get in on the action while ignoring the sin. Nowadays most christians don’t even know what usury is and you won’t hear sermons about it.

      The fighting is metaphoric.

It’s us out there every day, trying to earn a living. We’re all fighting over that one extra dollar that doesn’t exist.
