Apparently the mod likes using euphemisms for their extracting wealth from other productive members of society and really dislikes being reminded.

The only passive income that wouldnt qualify IMO is making something digital. An online training, eBook, software, video game if you don’t support it. You work like hell to release it and then if you don’t keep modifying it the income rolls in while youre on to the next thing.
Yep, this is my source of passive income. Allowed me to retire early and tell my former boss to fuck off. I was sorta surprised to see that passive income was such a controversial topic of conversation here. I get some of the arguments though. But for me, being older and uneducated, this is better than slaving away for others and worrying about layoffs and stuff. I banked away enough that now I won’t ever have to work again, even if the passive income goes away. I just had to, and continue to, live frugally and not be stupid with my money.
That’s also rent-seeking in the form of copyrights btw, but as far as rent-seeking goes, I agree it’s the least problematic
That’s what Disney does. I wouldn’t exactly call what they do “least problematic”!
Charging customers for content they own the copyright to is definitely the least problematic aspect of Disney. They have many much greater sins to answer for.
Disney, more than any other company, is responsible for the fact that copyright lasts 90 years instead of 20.
Sure, but I still rate the racism, homophobia, animal cruelty, use of sweatshop labour, and Zionism as worse. Copyright laws are unfair to consumers, while the others cause actual harm.
