“The nagging question after these studies was whether we had a true finding versus a spurious one due to ‘the healthy survivor effect,’ also called ‘the healthy vaccinee effect’,” Schulz told MNT.

This is the key bit — the new study rules out most influences of the healthy survivor effect.

So all these connections to nutrition and a healthier lifestyle were survivor effects? Viral has an actual effect?

HCMV could also be contributing to Alzheimer’s as well… crazy times we’re living in

    Edit:
    Study from the article posted
    https://alz-journals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/alz.14401

Results were of cadaver cells in a petri dish, however the damage to neurons was consistent with other Alzheimer’s studies. However, this is not to say that if you have HCMV you will get Alzheimer’s. More research is needed, but it’s a possible marker that vaccines could help to ameliorate Alzheimer’s in the general population.

    From the study

An alternative is that these mechanisms reflect a viral manipulation of host biology and could thus warrant therapeutic modulation. HCMV IgG seroprevalence is common and varies by age and comorbidity, present in 79% of 85-year-olds

I feel like as we keep learning more and more, that a lot of things we catch over our lives really do have longer term bad outcomes. That it happens is nothing new, like chicken pox and shingles, but its probably way worse than we currently know.

Take some deep breaths and stop worrying about it. You were destined to die the day you were born, stop racing to the finish.

“Many studies have found a link between anxiety-prone personality and shortened lifespan.1 The tendency to always react to frustration, loss, or threat with negative emotions is referred to as neuroticism by researchers who have found this trait to be widespread and worrisome.”

I’m not worried, I’m hopeful that fewer people will lose their parents and grandparents to alzheimers.

          Also

          What in the toxic positivity?

Edit: Don’t expand the thread below. I am not proud of taunting a bored heart disease survivor, whom I suspect has been banned in the past and is taking advantage of lax moderation. There is nothing of value, nor is there any further discussion about the OP.

            @in_my_honest_opinion

I don’t think I was trying to be toxic, but you can call it whatever you want.

I’m sorry for giving some unsolicited advice on social media?

Since we are going back and editting now:

Below is an embarrassing attempt by a narrow minded dogmatic thinker to make themselves a victim and shut down a debate to avoid thinking critically so they can cling to their dogma.

            Enjoy the shit show.

You’re assuming you know other people’s anxiety levels and motives. Then you’re giving bad advice. If I was worried or anxious, telling me to just not worry, then linking a pop sci article about generalized anxiety is not helpful. Frankly it’s the definition of toxic positivity.

Luckily, I don’t have generalized anxiety.

If you are truly concerned, and you suspect someone might be having problems, ask them. Or, you could commiserate, or just relate. If you can do neither, sometimes the best thing to do is say nothing.

I’m sorry for giving some unsolicited advice on social media?

This doesn’t sound like an apology, it sounds like you’re trying to be the victim. Which can also be viewed as toxic.

“Psychological projection is a defense mechanism where individuals attribute their own undesirable thoughts, feelings, or impulses to others.”

Maybe you needed that advice more than you realize buddy.

I hope the rest of your day is better.

Alright, since someone else decided to get triggered, I guess I need to say something else here.

Wow, nice you tag me here but not there. Telling.

Psychological projection is a defense mechanism where individuals attribute their own undesirable thoughts, feelings, or impulses to others.

You need to investigate your relationship with death and aging. Also you’re very defensive for being such a “positive” person. You assumed someone else had anxiety, then you tell them they’re projecting when they’re not anxious.

You read Depak Chopra too? Get your crystals aligned? Are vaccines harmful? I have so many questions about your spirituality, does it come with a coffee enema subscription?
