The eggs, scallion greens, wild garlic chives and dead nettles came from the yard.

Butter, tomatoes, olive oil, salt, pepper and emergency goat came from the store.

Cost per person, $2.80. $1.5 of that is tomatoes.

Tell me about the tomato work.

Cut in half, seasoned, and tossed under the broiler for a minute? Pre-heated oven? Seasoned after taken out? Face down in a hot dry pan?

Remove stem. Cut in half. A little olive oil drizzled on the cut surface. Salt and pepper, cut side up under the broiler until skin starts to slip (10 minutes?) or air fryer for 6-8 minutes at 400.

It simple. It’s bright. It’s a perfect compliment to fatty eggs, cheese, and butter.

If you decide to serve it with Indian food you can use curry powder instead of salt and pepper.
