    Just wanted to add:

I know there are more than a few armchair activists around happy to hand out advice. What’s happening in the USA has been a kick in the pants for me to get involved and protect my own country’s democracy.

We’re all in this together. You are not alone.

To be fair, if I was any louder or dirtier with it, I would be in jail. Not all of us are sitting aside doing nothing. Some of us have actively been on the frontlines. It’s annoying having people from the outside assuming that no one is doing anything. Many of us are lobbying, educating, boycotting, making our stances known with our representatives, and doing everything we know to do. The thing is many of the people who actually CAN do something big about it are remaining quiet. But let’s not blame the ordinary, every day people because we are doing all we can.

100% and I didn’t mean to come off as preachy or condescending because, and you said it, it’s not helpful.

I suppose it comes from how surreal this all feels; there are Nazis in the Whitehouse and nobody in the establishment appear to be “doing” anything about it except “picking their battles”… That is just so impotent and rational Americans deserve so much better.
