As the title suggests. I was having multiple issues with posts, upvotes, downvotes and comments not saving.

Deleting the app and reinstalling has refreshed the whole thing and it now works better than ever.

Posting here in case anyone else had similar issues.

This is because of the hack last night. Many of the big instances logged people out, but the apps weren’t coded to handle this use case.

If you only have one account in Memmy, the only way to log out is to reinstall. If you have more than one account, you can swipe to delete an account.

Are you all noticing if you leave a comment on a post, it has you right off the bat at 2 upvotes?

Hmm maybe it’s an instance thing like it happens when posting to certain instances and not others.

That’s good and doesn’t surprise me with how good this dev is. Certainly not that big of an issue but will be nice when it’s fixed.

I’ve had this bug every since I’ve started using Memmy. I really hope they fix it eventually. It happens to me on most posts and comments.

I also just deleted and reinstalled app, but apparently there is a much simpler way:

“Please go to “Manage Accounts” and then tap your Lemmy.world account. Hit “Edit Account”, enter your password, then hit save.”

I fixed it by going into my account, hitting edit, and clicking the save button. I think there’s a bug with the expiring session not being handled. And clicking save seems to log you back in.

I found that editing the password and re-entering it then saving was enough. I guess it’s just having to refresh the Auth token?

Yep, I had to reconfirm my login every time I opened the app.

Deleted and redownloaded and it’s back to normal!

You don’t need to delete the app, but you do need to re-log in to be able to vote or comment (presumably because of the hack yesterday).

Go to accounts tab, and delete your account (from the list of logged in accounts) and then log back in. You may need to “add it” a second time before you can delete it.

Everything’s been working fine for me so far. Didn’t have to delete anything.

You somehow dodged a bullet, or recently reauthenticated. A great many people had their apps stuck in a wonky state because many instances logged everyone out after last night’s hack.

Literally just did the same thing an hour ago. Hadn’t realized there was an update and the mobile apps been fucky all day.

I couldn’t figure out how to log out of the app. After the admins logged everyone out after the zero-day, I expect it left the login tokens kind of messed up. Uninstalling and reinstalling fixed it all.
