Trump said that she is stupid because she had to work too hard to pass the Bar after earning a doctorate in law, while he himself never even pursued grad school and witness accounts point to his undergrad transcripts being a horror show.

A degree in law and passing the bar does in fact show someone knows about the law, a prerequisite for following it in the context of being a lawmaker.
