Do what you feel will be better for your mental health. You can try one and then the other, too. Not either or.
You can be an advocate but I don’t know what you will accomplish. People will do what they want and sometimes if you say “You should do ‘X’”, they go “hey, wait, maybe I should do ‘not X’”. Humans can be contrarian.
If there was an easy answer to that, I think we would’ve solved a lot of other problems like cults, fraudsters, and extremists.
For sure, I was more interested in people’s opinions than solutions or definite answers.
I sometimes wonder the same about whether I should leave my hometown tbh.
