Hey there. Just started my journey with lemmy and am not so much a fan of using it in a browser. Is there some linux app I might try? (I use arch btw.)
If I had 3 more of me, I’d build a cross-platform desktop app for lemmy using the rust gui framework iced.

Not sure there’s a remindme bot, I haven’t seen many bots around here. Might be best to set your own reminder if you want to come back to this.
I think that was a joke

Let’s find 2 more of you then :)
No one wants to 😞 . I have over 90 github notifications alone in the span of several days, each of them requiring at least 5 minutes of response or investigation. I just want to code.
I’d be happy to help if possible.
I’m not an amazing coder, but I could definitely review PRs or issues in my downtime.
I have a feeling you’re about to get a lot of offers for help in the coming weeks!
Jerboa is FOSS and available on f-droid, that’s what I’m using at the moment.
Also the dev behind Redreader is talking about pivoting to support Lemmy instead once reddit goes down, so keep your eyes on that.
I’m personally very new to lemmy myself, you might be able to use Tafkars (!tafkars@feddit.de) if it works for desktop to proxy requests to your Lemmy instance.
Welcome. Sure, Linux Mint’s WebApp Manager or Peppermint OS’s Ice are here for you. But jokes aside, sadly, no. Lemmy does not have a native Linux application as of now. But you can make use of the fact that the browser UI is a PWA which can be installed like a regular app as well.
Proper PWA support isn’t in v0.17.3 (although mobile browsers will let you add it as an app). However, PWA support was merged into the main branch. I’m not sure which release it will be a part of though.
