I’d like to buy either an M440 or M340. I went to the dealer today and looked at a blacked out 2024 M340 special edition with tacora red interior. Car looks really sporty.

Talking to the sales guy, he’s like have you considered a 5 series - it may for your style a little better. I took it to mean you’re too old for the sporty 3 series.

I’m 38 years old, is that too old for an M340 or M440? I do need to look professional for work in front of clients, so I’m concerned they might think I’m an old guy in a young guys car. Thoughts appreciated!

I am 75 and have both an X6 twin turbo diesel, my workhorse, and an E 46 M3 25 years old. What a pleasure to drive the M3. Mostly on German Autobahn at 200 kph + . Fabulous machine with manual gear shift and never a problem despite it’s 140,000 kms. Just ordered a new e340 to replace the Diesel X6 which is going to be prohibited in Brussels end 2024. BMW Uber alles… The only problem with 5 and 6 or 7 series is the width. In many underground public parking lots in Europe, you can’t open the doors. Our cars have grown to sizes and weights that are totally useless. It’s time to downsize and once again have decent SCx coefficients.
