Hi all,

I’m trying to get the Game Pass version (UWP) of Starfield playable via Steam Remote Play or Moonlight. How are you accomplishing this today? XCloud works, but has other variables (e.g. higher latency, limited user capacity).

I have the Steam version of Starfield and that runs via Remote Play without an issue, but I really want to continue my existing progression. Its unfortunate that the 2 versions don’t share cross save.

Steam Remote Play

I don’t see a way to add the UWP as a non-Steam game like you normally would with other games. Is there a working solution for this? Remote Play is my preferred method and runs great with all my other non-UWP games.

Moonlight

I followed the guidance of creating a desktop shortcut for the Starfield UWP via the Xbox app. Running the shortcut launches the game as expected. I then added the to GeForce Experience > Shield > Gamestream using the desktop shortcut. I can successfully launch and connect to my PC via Moonlight, but when I run Starfield it doesn’t launch the game. Instead I am connected directly to my desktop. What am I missing?

Do you absolutely have to have it setup such that there’s a shortcut for it on Moonlight? Because Xbox stuff on Windows is very particular, and doesn’t like other stuff hooking into it.

I’ve found that the easiest course of action for Game Pass games is to just add Windows Remote Desktop (c:/windows/system32/mstsc.exe) as a shortcut in GeForce Experience, and have any Game Pass games set as a shortcut on my desktop. From then I can simply click whichever one I want.
