Won’t connect to my Wifi reliably. I barely got it connect to my phone hot-spot in order to complete setup. I did a few updates/restarts and was able to get it to connect to my 2.4ghz channel.
Nothing I do will ever get it to connect to my 5ghz which I have 9 other devices connected to and working perfectly fine.
Quick search on google returns countless people posting about this issue, making “fix” videos that clearly don’t work.
I’m sorry you’re experiencing this. Since you said you’ve googled it I’ll assume you’ve already tried to enable developer mode and turn off wifi power management. What happened when you did that?
It sounds like it may be a faulty chip, in which case yeah - I’d either replace or refund it. I can assure you that this isn’t a super common occurrence, though, so I’d suggest replacing it unless you’ve decided that you’re over it (which would be understandable - it must be frustrating).
I mean, I’ve had it for ~3 hours now so Going to keep trying a few things. Connects to 2.4ghz just fine from what I can tell. I’ve managed to download quite a few games for testing.
Once everyone else is “done” for the day, I’m going to reset the password. It uses a lot of special characters and I’m wondering if the janky Linux / steam config and drivers have issues with them?
I wasn’t able to even connect to my phone’s hotspot until I changed the password to something very simple.
Fwiw, I have lots of WiFi issues on my home network because I have a mesh setup. I haven’t had a chance to set up my SD yet but I see them all the time with different devices - usually cheaper IoT ones, Raspberry Pis, etc. On a device that costs $500+ it’s reasonable to be upset.
Here’s a thread that gives a good summary of what I’ve had to do in the past with other devices. I won’t be surprised if this issue bites me too.

Try a factory rest if you haven’t. Reinstall the latest os
