I have 2020 Corolla se that’s just straight up gas and I can easily get 40mph on my commute. I’ll never have to replace any hybrid or EV batteries and the engine is bulletproof.

People are really coming around to hybrids but the all electric cars still need some work unless you’re Tesla. Tesla sells because it’s different

For the millions of people in apartments, hybrid is the way to go. I’ve go full electric if I owned a home with a garage. I do not.

I have a townhouse and have the same issue. Our community is looking at chargers but until then my rav hybrid is dope. Paired with Costco gas it’s a very low cost to run.

Hybrids allow for carbon cutting now without infrastructure change. And it doesn’t matter what your living situation is.

At the end of the day it must be nice to own a home that you can plug your car in every night like plugging in your phone before going to bed. Good for you, you’re lucky. Us who have to park on the street don’t have that option

exactly, especially with how expensive it is to own a home. When Solid State Batteries become more mainstream I imagine plug-in hybrids might actually become way more common. With SS batteries manufacturers should be able to reduce the size of a PHEV pack to be the size of what’s found in a normal hybrid. It’s almost a similar jump as we went from predominantly nickel chemistry to lithium.

IIRC, Toyota has said their solid state battery will be going into a hybrid first. Not sure if regular or plug in though

This is another “Twitter-X Man Bad” articles without substance. Other brands EV sales may be sputtering, but Teslas are selling just fine.

Not only are they only moderately reliable at the best of times, with atrocious quality control, but they’re just ass ugly. Bland, uninspired design all around.

My prius prime is the best car i ever owned. Zero problems at 150k and takes very little fuel. Amazing car. Why the fuck would i want full electric and all the problems that come with it…

How does the Prius prime work with electric only? Do you just put it in drive and it figures it all out like a normal hybrid or do you push EV only.

I have a 2010 Prius. 130k mile. Just replaced my 12v battery (2nd time during my 12 year of ownership). Still on the original hybrid battery 🤞. Been wanting a bigger car but hard to make the move while this is still so efficient and reliable.

EV people take a problem and insist on turning it black and white. The world does not work like that. No one wants to be forced or coerced into your solution.

You need to assimilate both sides to create balance. Toyota understands this while Musk does not. Therefore Toyota will prevail. Musk is a fad.

Proceeds to see issue as a win/loss competition between Musk(?) And Toyota.

Personal use EVs don’t do a thing anyway except make the traffic air a bit nicer and a tech bro more rich. It’s a blip on a society wholly built on consumption. Radical change of political systems, urbanism, industry change and vegetarianism are the paths forward.

My Tacoma frame rotted in half, so they bought the truck back from me at 62,000 miles. My 5yr old model-3 with 127,000 miles is still going strong, literally no rust.

Toyota needs to get on top of its dealers. These crooked dealerships are marking up the new models because they know that they’ll get somebody who’s desperate for a new car to buy them. I’ve heard a lot of people talking about buying elsewhere because their local dealers are charging 5-10k over MSRP for RAVs, Tacomas, Tundras, etc.

It turns out that being a dick-brain to people who would want an EV just kinda turns them off from buying anything from you at all.

Toyota is selling more cars than last year. Also if you buy the higher trim, it comes with a hybrid engine.

Hybrids are the best solution for most people. Toyota has always been on the right path, regardless of what the EV fan base thinks.

Seems like hybrids are perfect, after having relied solely on gasoline all these years.
